INXS biography
INXS was an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1977. The band was composed of lead vocalist Michael Hutchence, guitarist Tim Farriss, bassist Garry Gary Beers, drummer Jon Farriss, keyboardist and main composer Andrew Farriss, and guitarist and saxophonist Kirk Pengilly. INXS gained popularity in the 1980s and 1990s with their rock and new wave sound infused with elements of funk and dance. They achieved significant success with hits like 'Need You Tonight', 'Never Tear Us Apart', and 'New Sensation'. INXS's energetic live performances and Hutchence's charismatic stage presence contributed to their widespread appeal. Tragically, Michael Hutchence passed away in 1997, leading to the disbandment of INXS in 2012.
INXS controversies
During their career, INXS faced their share of controversies. One of the most notable controversies was Michael Hutchence's tumultuous personal life. He had high-profile relationships with several famous women, including Kylie Minogue, Helena Christensen, and Paula Yates. Hutchence's relationship with Yates became highly controversial due to her ongoing custody battles with her ex-husband Bob Geldof. This controversy reached its climax when Hutchence died by suicide in 1997, leaving behind Yates and their daughter Tiger Lily. Another controversy surrounding INXS was their decision to continue performing and recording music after Hutchence's death. While some fans were supportive, others criticized the band for continuing without their iconic frontman.
