Comedy Central controversies

Over the years, Comedy Central has faced its fair share of controversies. One of the most notable controversies occurred in 2006 when the channel aired an episode of "South Park" that depicted the prophet Muhammad. The episode was met with widespread criticism from many Muslim groups who felt the depiction of Muhammad was disrespectful and offensive. Comedy Central decided to censor the episode and have not aired it since. Another controversy occurred in 2015 when Trevor Noah was announced as the new host of "The Daily Show". Noah faced criticism for his past tweets that were seen as sexist and anti-Semitic. Comedy Central stood by Noah and he ultimately took over as host of the show.
